Introducing Kenyetta Jeffries
Kenyetta Jeffries is a wife, mother, and grandmother, affectionately known as “Yaya.” Her approach to ministry is deeply rooted in her family life, where she finds strength and inspiration. Born in Michigan and raised in San Diego, California, Kenyetta has always drawn strength from her roots. She was greatly influenced by her mother, Lillie, known to many as Lou or Granny Lou. Kenyetta watched her mother model strength, resilience, and determination, along with a commitment to self-improvement and breaking cycles. As she has grown older, Kenyetta has come to realize how much of her own strength, poise, and resilience stems from her mother's example. Today, her children affectionately call her mother Granny, while her grandchildren know her as Granny Lou. Kenyetta honors this legacy of strength, which continues to shape her journey of faith.
A Life-Changing Encounter
Kenyetta’s spiritual journey began at the age of 23 with a life-changing encounter during the 1994 Northridge earthquake. Awakened by the Spirit of God, she instinctively cried out to Him, leading to a supernatural experience that brought her to faith through Jesus Christ. During this transformative time, John 14:6 was highlighted to her, where Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life." This truth captured her heart and continues to anchor her calling, reminding her that she is following the way, the truth, and the life. This encounter marked the beginning of her lifelong commitment to sharing hope and reaching out to those often considered unreachable.
Early Ministry: From Performance Arts to Church Leadership
In the mid to late 90s, Kenyetta’s ministry journey began in Los Angeles, where she worked as a performance arts teacher at Hollywood Little Red Schoolhouse. During this time, she became a member of Church of the Harvest, under the pastoral leadership of Bishop Clarence McClendon. She started by volunteering her time cleaning the church and eventually began working with youth. Her role as a teacher, combined with her volunteer work, allowed her to integrate her passion for dance and performance arts into ministry, using it as a powerful tool to connect and inspire others.
Expanding Her Reach: From Michigan to Cape Cod
In the fall of 1999, Kenyetta relocated to Monroe, Michigan, where she began her career in the airline industry while also attending and serving at Stewart Road Christian Ministries Center under Pastor Sam Luke. Starting as a volunteer, she gradually took on greater responsibilities, eventually serving as youth pastor. During this period, dance continued to be a significant part of her ministry, both within the church and through community outreach. Her efforts led to the founding of Spirit of Dance, a non-profit dance studio that provided a safe space for young people in the community to express themselves and grow through the arts. In 2008, Kenyetta was licensed as a minister under the leadership of Pastor John Hearns at Christian Faith Ministries in Garden City, Michigan, solidifying her role in ministry leadership.
In 2010, Kenyetta relocated to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, where she felt a calling to expand her ministry even further. In the fall of 2017, she founded New Day Ministries, marking a new chapter in her journey. After nearly 20 years of working in the airline industry across two companies, she took a leap of faith and retired early in 2019 to pursue her calling full-time—just before the onset of the pandemic. Despite the challenges that followed, Kenyetta remained steadfast in her mission to restore hope, renew faith, and embrace purpose.

Influences and Mentorship
Kenyetta’s journey has been shaped by the influence of several key ministries and individuals. Church of the Harvest in Los Angeles, under the leadership of Bishop Clarence McClendon, was where she began her ministry work. Later, Stewart Road Christian Ministries Center, led by Pastor Sam Luke, provided a space for her to grow and eventually serve as youth pastor. Her licensing as a minister came under the leadership of Pastor John Hearns at Christian Faith Ministries in Garden City, Michigan. Early in her faith journey, Kenyetta was also mentored by Mama Rose, a humble yet powerful woman of God, prophetess, and spiritual mother. Mama Rose played a significant role in helping Kenyetta understand what it means to live by faith, guiding her through the early stages of her spiritual walk and laying the foundation for her to step into her own ministry.
Challenges and Opportunities
Throughout her journey, Kenyetta has faced challenges, particularly around the perception of women in ministry. As a female pastor and leader, she has encountered mixed views and resistance, with some questioning whether a woman should lead based on traditional interpretations of scripture. Despite this, Kenyetta has remained steadfast, drawing strength from the examples of women God used powerfully throughout the Bible. Her perspective remains rooted in the belief that God’s calling transcends gender, and she continues to pursue her purpose with boldness and faith.
In addition to challenges, Kenyetta’s ministry has been marked by wonderful opportunities and joyful experiences. From leading youth initiatives and arts programs to engaging with global audiences through digital platforms, she has seen countless lives touched and transformed. She has also had the opportunity to travel and minister at other churches, evangelizing and sharing the Gospel with diverse communities. Her journey reflects a balance of service, joy, and resilience, and she values every opportunity to serve the Kingdom, no matter the role or setting. She continues to press forward in faith, knowing that God has more in store.
Expanding Beyond Traditional Boundaries
One of the hallmarks of Kenyetta’s ministry is her willingness to adapt. From her early beginnings in Los Angeles to her current role on Cape Cod, she has demonstrated the ability to transition and grow. Her time in the airline industry taught her adaptability, service, and connection, which she now brings to her digital and mobile outreach. Through her live broadcast, It’s A New Day | Morning Inspiration with Kenyetta Jeffries, she delivers spiritual encouragement every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 6:00 AM EST, offering hope, prayer, and inspiration to a global audience.
Looking Ahead
Kenyetta remains deeply committed to empowering youth, young adults, and women, equipping them with skills, support, and encouragement to discover their purpose and express their faith. She has a special heart for women called to ministry, providing guidance and mentorship to help them navigate their spiritual journey. Kenyetta is also developing a children’s program to help kids discover their God-given gifts and understand their purpose. Additionally, she is launching New Day Inspirations, an online gift store offering faith-based products.
With a heart for reaching the lost and a passion for raising future leaders, Kenyetta continues to live out her calling as a Restorer—using her gifts, compassion, and platforms to impact lives and advance the Kingdom of God.
